Maharashtra govt decides to impart basic military education from class-I

Maharashtra School Education Minister Dada Bhuse today announced that the state will introduce basic military training for students from Class 1.
Minister Bhuse stated that retired soldiers would play a key role in imparting training, alongside sports teachers, members of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and Scouts and Guides. He said this decision is intended to nurture love for the country and instil habits of regular exercises and discipline, which will benefit students throughout their lives.
To ensure effective implementation, the state plans to involve approximately 2.5 lakh ex-servicemen in addition to existing school sports and youth organizations. The initiative marks a unique step in integrating structured physical and values-based education into the school curriculum across Maharashtra.
