Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar welcomed the Union Budget, describing it as a strong roadmap for youth-centric, farmer-friendly. She noted that allocations for Metro projects in Maharashtra, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail, and announcements related to the Mumbai-Pune and Pune-Hyderabad high-speed rail corridors would accelerate the state’s development.
She further stated that funding for urban development, river rejuvenation, agri-business networks and rural connectivity projects would strengthen balanced development in Maharashtra. Highlighting the health sector, Pawar said the bio-pharma policy, measures to make medicines for cancer and diabetes more affordable, and the 40,000 crore rupee allocation for the semiconductor sector would be landmark steps towards building a knowledge-based economy.
