Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that the state’s conviction rate has improved from 9 percent in 2013 to 53 percent in 2025. He was speaking after the inauguration of an Exhibition on New Criminal Laws at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.
Mr. Fadnavis said that with the new criminal laws, conviction rate can reach to 90 percent. He said mobile forensic vans have further helped reduce pendency and ensured transparent examination of evidence. He said that 50 thousand vacant police posts have been filled in recent years while the cyber lab is working to resolve the challenges posed by cyber criminals, adding that over 60 girls have been saved from cyber bullying in the recent past.
