Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Assures Swift Relief for Flood-Hit Farmers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured that all government machinery is working on a war footing to provide relief to flood-affected farmers in the state. Briefing the media after today’s Cabinet meeting, he said over 31 lakh farmers have been sanctioned financial aid of 2,215 crore rupees, of which 1,829 crore has already been released to districts and will reach farmers’ bank accounts within the next 10 days.
 
The Chief Minister said damage assessment is being completed quickly, and compensation is being disbursed without delay. District Collectors have been empowered to provide immediate relief for loss of life, livestock, and homes.
 
He informed that seventeen teams of NDRF and SDRF are engaged in rescue operations across several districts including Dhule, Jalgaon, Solapur, Beed and Parbhani. Evacuated citizens are being provided food, water, and shelter.
 
Mr. Fadnavis added that a proposal will be sent to the Centre for assistance. 
With the Met department forecasting heavy rains again on the 27th and 28th of this month, he urged citizens to remain alert. The Chief Minister will visit flood-affected areas tomorrow to review the situation
