Maharashtra Cabinet approves series of key decisions aimed at improving recruitment, infrastructure & healthcare

The Maharashtra Cabinet today approved a series of key decisions aimed at improving recruitment, infrastructure, healthcare and regional development. Reforms in government recruitment were cleared in line with the Developed Maharashtra 2047 vision. The number of service cadres under the Maharashtra Public Service Commission will increase from 53 to 153, and the process will be simplified. A Nipun Setu initiative will also be launched through the MahaJobs portal on the lines of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
 
The Cabinet approved the transfer of four acres of land in Kulgaon-Badlapur to Tata Power for setting up a power substation. It also cleared the establishment of IES Skill Tech University in Mumbai to boost skill development and employment opportunities in the state.
 
Financial approval of over 61 crore rupees has been granted under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development for improving basic facilities for fishermen in coastal districts.
 
In the health sector, a major project will be implemented with financial assistance of three thousand 708 crore rupees from the Japan International Cooperation Agency to strengthen medical education and healthcare services.
 
Six more districts, namely Hingoli, Jalna, Palghar, Beed, Dhule and Parbhani, have been included in the Aspirational Districts Programme of NITI Aayog, expanding development efforts across 177 talukas. Additionally, amendments to the law governing the Maharashtra Medical Council have also been approved.
