Maharashtra cabinet has approved the operation of one thousand electric buses in the Pune metropolitan region under the Central Government’s PM-E Drive scheme.
Approval has also been granted for a system to directly transfer the monthly operational payments to the concerned companies from the accounts of the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has submitted a demand to the Ministry of Heavy Industries for one thousand e-buses. These include two hundred nine-metre buses and eight hundred twelve-metre buses.
