The ten newly elected members of the Maharashtra Legislative Council were sworn-in as members of the upper house this morning. Chairperson of Maharashtra’s Legislative Council Prof. Ram Shinde administered the oath to the newly elected members in the Central Hall of the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and several senior leaders.
Showcasing support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel amid the ongoing West Asia crisis, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today rode a motorcycle from his residence ‘Varsha’ to the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. He was accompanied by BJP leader and state’s Culture Minister Ashish Shelar as they arrived for the swearing-in of new members of the state legislative council.
