Kuno National Park is once again in the spotlight as Project Cheetah continues to show remarkable success. Recently, a 33-month-old India-born female cheetah, Mukhi, gave birth to five cubs, taking the total number of cheetahs in Kuno and Gandhi Sagar sanctuaries to 32. Today, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released female cheetah Veera and her two cubs into the open forest, increasing the number of free-ranging cheetahs to 19. Kuno now has 29 cheetahs, while Gandhi Sagar has 3. Their safety is ensured through radio tracking and dedicated field teams for continuous monitoring. The growing cheetah population is also boosting eco-tourism in the region. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated wildlife lovers, saying the rising cheetah numbers reflect India’s successful conservation efforts.
