Madhya Pradesh celebrates Basant Panchami with devotion and grand rituals

Basant Panchami is being celebrated across Madhya Pradesh today with devotion and joy. Special programmes are being held at religious and historical places, while the administration remains fully alert to maintain law and order.
 
On the occasion of Basant Panchami, prayers were offered to Goddess Saraswati and the spring season was welcomed across Madhya Pradesh. At the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, special rituals were performed during the Bhasma Aarti, including abhishek with saffron Panchamrit and offerings of yellow clothes, yellow flowers and yellow sweets. In Panna district, the historic Saraswati Temple at Ajaigarh is also witnessing grand celebrations, with a large number of devotees arriving from Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states. Special prayers, havan, kanya bhoj and distribution of prasad have been arranged.
 
Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been made at the historic Bhojshala in Dhar district in view of Basant Panchami. Following the directions of the Supreme Court, the Bhojshala parishar and the entire Dhar city have been placed on high alert. A heavy police force has been deployed along with executive magistrates, quick response teams and mobile patrol units.
 
Surveillance is being carried out through drones and CCTV cameras, and the Bhojshala area has been declared a no-fly zone.Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra said that all necessary steps have been taken to maintain peace and law and order, and citizens have been asked not to pay attention to rumours and to cooperate with the administration.
 
The administration has made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone trying to disturb peace. Along with religious celebrations, special focus is being laid on safety and harmony across the state on Basant Panchami.
