Lumbini Province Assembly Member Rekha Sharma of CPN (UML) was detained by the police personnel at her residence in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu. A team of the Nepal Police from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office detained her, as she is accused of forcing a young girl into child labour for 6 years. 

 

Kathmandu Metropolitan had filed a case against her on 11 Feb 2025, and she could not be detained during that time. As Balen takes the oath as PM, there is a major crackdown on pending cases.
