LS Speaker pays tribute to two legendary personalities on their birth anniversaries  

 
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla today paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on their birth anniversaries in New Delhi. Addressing students under the programme Know Your Leader, Mr Birla said both leaders strengthened the country’s democratic and cultural foundations through inclusivity, national unity and respect for pluralism. He highlighted Lok Sabha’s efforts to promote the use of regional languages in parliamentary proceedings, reflecting countries’ rich linguistic diversity.
Paying homage to Mahamana Malaviya, Mr Birla described him as a unique blend of modern thought and eternal values, noting his immense contribution to education, nation-building and the freedom movement through institutions like Banaras Hindu University. 
On Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that Mr Vajpayee gave a new direction to Indian politics through dignity, dialogue and decisive leadership, and emerged as a symbol of principled public life. Over 530 students from across the country attended the programme organised by  Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies, PRIDE and interacted with the Lok Sabha Speaker.
