The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone VII Conference was inaugurated in Goa today by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, marking the start of a two-day regional parliamentary meet.
The inaugural function was attended by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar, along with senior legislators from western states. The conference focuses on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and addressing key development issues.
Deliberations begin today with a session on the role of young legislators in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047, followed by discussions on regional priorities such as trade, tourism, urbanisation, environment, and coastal connectivity on April 10.
