Lok Sabha to Debate and Vote on Key Ministry Grants for 2026–27 Today

The Lok Sabha will take up discussion and voting today on the Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for 2026-27. The House is also scheduled to take up discussion and voting on the Demands for Grants under the control of Home Ministry, External Affairs Ministry and Power Ministry. 
 
Replying to a discussion on Demand for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Railways in Lok Sabha last evening, Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said, the Modi Government has brought big changes in the Railways in the last decade and has worked on all dimensions of the sector. He said, the financial health of Railways has improved significantly under PM Modi’s leadership in last 10 years. 
 
Meanwhile, Parliament passed The Appropriation Bill 2026 with the Rajya Sabha returning it to the Lower House after discussion yesterday. Lok Sabha had already given its approval to the Appropriation Bill.  It seeks to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2025-26. 
 
Replying to the discussion in Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that Centre is giving 57,381.84 crore rupees for Economic Stabilisation Fund. She said fertiliser subsidy is 19,230 crores to meet additional requirements that may arise for the coming Rabi crop season. She said a sum of 5000 crores is being given to Jammu and Kashmir as central assistance to meet their development requirements.
