Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today paid floral tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker GMC Balayogi in New Delhi. In a social media post, Mr Birla said that his tenure as Speaker is known for enhancing parliamentary traditions. He also added that his commitment to democratic values remains inspirational even today. Secretary General of Lok Sabha, Utpal Kumar Singh, and other officers of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats also paid tributes to the former Speaker. GMC Balayogi was the Speaker of the Tenth and Twelfth Lok Sabha and was re-elected as the Speaker of the Thirteenth Lok Sabha.
