Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till 2:00 PM following opposition uproar on various issues, including roll back of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll in Bihar. When the Lok Sabha met after the second adjournment at 1:00 PM, the opposition members again started sloganeering over various issues, including seeking a commitment from the government to have a discussion on SIR. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla said that during the Business advisory committee meeting, there was a consensus between the government and the opposition to start discussion on Operation Sindoor, but the opposition is deviating from its commitment. But the opposition members continued with their protest,due to which the House was adjourned till 2:00 PM.
When the Lok Sabha met after the first adjournment at 12:00 noon, the opposition members again started sloganeering over various issues, including demanding roll back of the Special Intensive Revision in Bihar. The Speaker appealed to the opposition to allow the House to function, but the opposition did not pay heed to his appeal and continued with their protest, due to which the House was adjourned till 1:00 PM. Earlier, when the House met at 11:00 AM, the opposition MPs created a ruckus to which Mr Birla said that the Question Hour is an important business and the opposition must participate in it. Amid the noisy scene, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat replied to a question related to the Swachhata green leaf rating initiative. The Opposition members continued their protest, due to which the Speaker adjourned the House till 12:00 noon.
The Rajya Sabha also faced two adjournments. When the Rajya Sabha met at 12 Noon after the first adjournment, the Presiding Officer, Ghanshyam Tiwari, tried to run the Question Hour, but the proceedings were disrupted following the opposition uproar. As the pandemonium continued, the Chair adjourned the House till 2 PM.
Earlier, when the Upper House met at 11 AM, two AIADMK MPs M Dhanapal and I S Inbadurai took oath. Deputy Chairman Harivansh said that he has received 26 adjournment notices from different political parties relating to various issues, but the notices were rejected citing the ruling.
