Lieutenant Colonel Sita Ashok Shelke has been selected for the Subhas Chandra Bose National Award for Disaster Management 2026 in the individual category for her outstanding work in the field of disaster management. In a social media post, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority has been selected for the award in the institutional category. These awards recognise exemplary contributions in disaster management and efforts aimed at strengthening preparedness, response and resilience across the country.
