Legendary actor Dharmendra passes away

Legendary actor Dharmendra, fondly known as Bollywood’s He-Man, has passed away at the age of 89. He had been battling illness for a long time, and his health had been steadily deteriorating.
 
 
His passing marks the end of an era in Indian cinema, an artist whose charm, warmth, and timeless performances in films like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Phool Aur Patthar shaped generations of movie lovers. A true legend, Dharmendra’s legacy will continue to live on through his unforgettable work and the love he inspired in millions. 
 
 
 
On the professional front, Dharmendra made his debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and was last seen in the movie Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024. Dharmendra, who is widely considered one of the greatest, most handsome, and most commercially successful film stars in the history of Indian cinema, had a cinematic career spanning over six decades.
 
 
He has worked in more than 300 films. Dharmendra holds the record for starring in the highest number of hit films in Hindi cinema. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2012. Dharmendra also served as a Member of the Parliament (Lok Sabha) fromthe  Bharatiya Janata Party. He represented Bikaner in Rajasthan from 2004 to 2009.
