Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan honoured Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary today. In a social media post, the Vice President said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay led a life of profound thought and utter simplicity. He added that at the time of his passing, he had just 5 rupees in his pocket. Mr Radhakrishnan said that he envisioned a Bharat rooted in culture, driven by compassion, and guided by integral humanism. The Vice President said that his life was a testament to Ekatma Manavta Vad. He was a true servant of Bharat.
Remembering Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was the great son of Mother India and the pioneer of Integral Humanism. In a social media post extending his homage, Mr Modi said that his nationalist ideals and the principle of Antyodaya, which guided the nation towards prosperity, will continue to be invaluable in the development of a prosperous India.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda today paid tribute to the leader at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi. Later, both leaders planted a sapling at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park in the national capital to mark the occasion.
