In Jharkhand, Latehar police have achieved their second major success against Naxalites within three days. The Latehar police team, led by Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav, killed CPI Maoist organisation commander Manish Yadav, who was carrying a cash reward of 5 lakh rupees, in an encounter under the Netarhat police station area. Meanwhile, Kundan Kherwar, carrying a cash reward of 10 lakh rupees, has been arrested alive. The night before last, JJMP Commander Pappu Lohra, who carried a reward of 10 lakh rupees, was killed by the forces. During the search operation conducted after the encounter, the body of a Naxalite was recovered. He has been identified as Manish Yadav, on whom the government had announced a reward of 5 lakh rupees.
