Last rites of Madinah bus accident victims performed in Saudi Arabia with full Islamic traditions

The last rites of the victims of the Madinah bus accident were conducted on the afternoon of November 22 in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, with the ceremonies carried out in full accordance with Islamic traditions. The solemn proceedings drew relatives, community members and officials who came together to honour those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
 
The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, attended the funeral prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque and later the burial at the revered Jannat-ul-Baqi cemetery. Minister of Minorities Welfare, Govt. of Telangana, Shri Mohammed Azharuddin, India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Khan, and Consul General in Jeddah, Fahad Suri, were also present, standing alongside grieving families and well-wishers as the final rites were performed. Senior officials from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Governorate of Madinah participated, reflecting the support extended by the local authorities.
 
The Government of India provided comprehensive assistance to the families of the victims, coordinating closely with Saudi officials to ensure the timely completion of all formalities. The Indian Embassy reiterated its deep condolences and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, acknowledging the profound impact of the tragic incident.
