The Narayangadh-Muglin road section has been obstructed due to landslides. The road has been blocked due to a landslide in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality near Tuin Khola due to continuous rain since Thursday. Vehicles were stranded on the road with the traffic disruption. Operations on the road have resumed after a quick effort of clearing debris by machines.
Torrential rain since Thursday has obstructed the Ilam-Rajduwali road section along the Mechi Highway in East Nepal. Vehicles are completely banned on the road until further notice. The Tilkeni-Simalgola-Shilpur road, an alternative route to the Mechi Highway, is also blocked due to rain and landslides.
The Kechana-Kanchenjunga road in Mechi Corridor has been closed since early October last year after its concrete bridge at Maikhola in Belase collapsed due to floods. With all roads connecting Ilam headquarters to Jhapa blocked, road connectivity between Ilam and Jhapa has been severed.
Meanwhile, a bus bound for Kathmandu from Gaur met with an accident on Friday morning in Bharatpur, Tikauli forest area, injuring 33 people. The injured were immediately rescued by the Armed Police Force and taken to Chitwan Medical College, National City Hospital, and Bharatpur Hospital. The condition of all the injured is stable. The road that was temporarily blocked after the accident resumed operation after a short while.
