Landslide in Western Kenya Claims 21 Lives, Dozens Still Missing

In Kenya, the death toll in a landslide caused by heavy rains has reached 21. The Landslide occurred in Marakwet East in the western part of the country yesterday.

Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen, in a social media post, said more than 30 people were still unaccounted for, while 25 people with serious injuries had been airlifted to receive further medical attention.

The Kenyan Red Cross, which is helping to coordinate rescue efforts, said that the most affected areas are still not accessible by road due to mudslides and flash floods.
