In Ladakh, following the landmark decision of the Government to create Drass as a separate district, a festive atmosphere prevailed across the region today, with people celebrating the historic moment with great enthusiasm.
The residents of Drass decorated the main market and the entire route leading into the town to welcome the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Imteeaz Kacho, and Superintendent of Police, Ishtiyaq Ahmed Kacho, who arrived to assume charge for the first time.
A grand public reception was organized, with people gathering in large numbers along the way to greet the officers. The welcome reflected the hopes and aspirations of the public for a new era of development and governance.
A rally was also taken out from the Taxi Stand to the SDM Office, with participation from local representatives, religious leaders, youth, and citizens from all walks of life.
The assumption of charge by the first DC and SP marks a significant step in the administrative setup of the newly created district, raising expectations for accelerated development and improved public services in Drass.
