Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta reviewed the law and order situation following the relaxation in the restrictions imposed through the prohibitory order of section 163 of the BNSS in Leh district.
The high-level meeting held yesterday at Raj Niwas was attended by top-level officials, including Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, Leh District Magistrate, Leh SSP, and other security agencies officers.
They briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the overall law and order scenario, while situation remained peaceful across the Union Territory.
The officers also informed the high-level meeting that peace and normalcy have been effectively restored with the wholehearted cooperation of the people.
Lieutenant Governor appreciated the exemplary restraint and sense of responsibility shown by the citizens during the relaxations in restrictions, terming their role crucial in maintaining stability.
He assured that the UT administration remains committed to safeguarding the rights of citizens, working tirelessly to protect their aspirations for growth and harmony.
Emphasising the need for sustained vigilance, Lieutenant Governor also directed the administration and security agencies to remain alert, responsive, and adopt a people-friendly approach in their functioning.
Meanwhile, Leh District Magistrate has allowed more relaxation in the restrictions today by extending the time of relaxation for the operation of business establishments from 7 am to 6 PM.
