In Ladakh, Department of Youth Services and Sports organized a “Tiranga Yatra” Cycle Rally on Sunday to commemorate World Bicycle Day under the Khelo India Scheme’s Fit India Movement.
The rally began from the Tourist Facilitation Centre, passed through Main Bazar Kargil, and concluded at the Sports Stadium, Bemathang. A large number of student cyclists from various schools, SAI Centre Kargil, and youth from cycling groups MAK and LSSB participated in the event, displaying great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The rally was flagged off by Retired PDD Development Commissioner Haji Asgar Ali, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged the youth to make cycling a regular habit for better health and a cleaner environment.
The event aimed to spread awareness about fitness, environmental sustainability, and national pride, aligning with the objectives of the Fit India Movement.
