In Ladakh, a two-day emergency life support conference has inaugurated at District Hospital Kargil under the theme Saving Lives When Every Second Counts today.
The program, organized by the Department of Emergency Medicine, JPNATC AIIMS and WHO Collaborating Centre for Emergency and Trauma Care in collaboration with the Department of Surgery and NQAS, District Hospital Kargil, holds special significance for the border district where timely medical response is often crucial due to its harsh climate and remote location.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, while addressing the inaugural session, said the training will greatly enhance the capacity of doctors, paramedics, and nursing staff to respond effectively to medical emergencies and trauma cases. He termed the visit of AIIMS Delhi experts as a major step in strengthening healthcare in Kargil and expressed optimism that such initiatives will pave the way for advanced medical infrastructure, including the establishment of a Mini AIIMS in the district.
Emergency Life Support Workshop in Kargil Equips Doctors with Vital Life-Saving Skills. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imteeaz Kacho, also stressed that the workshop will equip local health professionals with vital life-saving skills that can make a difference in critical situations where every second matters.
Experts from AIIMS Delhi said the training aims to build confidence among healthcare workers in managing emergencies, ensuring better patient outcomes in the region.
