Ladakh celebrated the 7th Union Territory Foundation day today in Leh. On this day, 31 October 2019 , Ladakh was carved out as Union Territory from the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state following the abrogation of article 370 and integrated with the Union of India as a separate Union Territory. Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta attended the function organised at UT Secretariat to mark the occasion. School Students also presented colourful programs and patriotic songs to mark the occasion. Chief Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal highlighted the achievements under different sectors for welfare of the people.

The celebrations were held in Kargil also. Different departments showcased their schemes and products through exhibition stalls, highlighting government initiatives and achievements in the district.
