Kolkata Hosts Mega Gita Recitation as Five Lakh Voices Chant in Unison

A mass Gita Recitation with five lakh voices was held in Kolkata today. The main event, organised by the Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad, began at the Brigade Parade Ground with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Before the Gita recitation, a Vedic chanting session was arranged. This was followed by devotional songs and a procession, after which the Gita was placed on the stage and an Arati was performed.
After the speeches of various saints and spiritual leaders, the Gita recitation commenced. The first, ninth, and the final eighteenth chapters were recited in unison. It is noteworthy that this year marks the 5,126th birth anniversary of the Gita.
Governor of West Bengal, C.V. Ananda Bose was present at the event. He said that the people of Bengal are now prepared to fight against their enemies. He added that the people are also ready to fight against Bengal’s current distress and religious arrogance. He advised the people of the state to continue working diligently.
Union Minister of State Sukanta Majumdar, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, State BJP President Shamik Bhattacharya, along with senior BJP leaders and saints from various parts of the country, attended the event.
