Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju today remembered Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his iconic and unforgettable contribution for the country’s unity. While taking Rashtriya Ekta pledge on the occasion National Unity Day today, the Minister said that Sardar Patel was epitome of national unity. He added that with his indomitable spirit and relentless efforts, Mr Patel integrated hundreds of diverse states to form the modern nation-state of India. On the occasion, Mr Rijiju also emphasized that the people of the country need to understand the contribution and feel pride of the struggles that India’s freedom fighters have gone through. The Minister further highlighted that the initiatives like Swachhata Abhiyaan Special Campaign 5.0 reaffirms the government’s commitment to integrating the ideals of unity and integrity into its everyday functioning.
