As the world celebrates International Day of Yoga today, Union Ministers and officials across Delhi performed yoga to emphasise the importance of wellness and mindfulness. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Sanjay Jaju performed Yoga at Lodhi Garden. Talking to the media following the Yoga session, Mr Vaishnaw said that Yoga is an unexcelled skill of Indian Culture and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped it gain global recognition, inspiring Yoga enthusiasts worldwide to practice and bring positive change to their lives and communities. He said that India is fortunate that its Yoga tradition is now celebrated internationally.
Minister of Health JP Nadda participated in a mass yoga demonstration at Yamuna Sports Complex. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga has reached every corner of the world. Mr Nadda urged the people to make Yoga part of their habit for a healthy life.
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar along with other diplomats also performed yoga. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju led the celebrations for the International Day of Yoga at Millennium Park. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister PK Mishra and other officials participated in a Yoga session at the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi.
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, HD Kumaraswamy, B.L. Verma, Army Chief Designate Lt General Upendra Dwivedi and Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi also practised Yoga at separate locations across the national capital this morning.
