Keralam CM chairs high-level meeting to review heatwave situation in state

In Keralam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired a high-level meeting today to review the ongoing heatwave situation in the state. The meeting decided to ensure the availability of drinking water, ORS, and first-aid facilities for sunstroke at major public places such as markets and bus stands. Strict restrictions will be imposed on public events, cultural and sports programmes, and selection trials during heatwave warning periods.

Water kiosks will be set up at bus waiting areas and auto-taxi stands with public participation. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has forecast that temperatures in several districts of Keralam may rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal. Maximum temperatures are likely to touch 40 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and 39 degrees Celsius in Kollam district. Sunstroke cases are rising rapidly across the state.
