In Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today said that the state government is giving top priority to cancer prevention and treatment. He was speaking at the inauguration of the State Health Department’s ‘Arogyam Anandaam – Keep Cancer Away’ cancer prevention campaign in Thiruvananthapuram. The aim of the project is to detect cancer risk in people and ensure treatment at the initial stage. A year-long activity has been planned in connection with the campaign. The first phase, from today till 8th March, International Women’s Day, will ensure screening and treatment of breast cancer and cervical cancer.
