Kerala Assembly adjourned amid Congress protests over Sabarimala Gold Case

In Thiruvananthapuram, the Kerala Legislative Assembly was adjourned today following continuous protests by the Congress-led United Democratic Front over the Sabarimala gold case. The opposition continued its protest and non-cooperation with the proceedings for the day.

Due to the disruption, the Speaker skipped the Question Hour and proceeded with other listed business amid the uproar. The discussion and voting on the final supplementary demands for grants in the state budget were completed swiftly, after which the House was adjourned till February 22.

Meanwhile, Speaker A. N. Shamseer said that some opposition members assaulted Watch and Ward staff on the floor of the House during the protest.
