Kashi Tamil Sangamam begins from 29th Nov to 12th Dec with seven trains operating between Tamil Nadu & Banaras

The Kashi Tamil Sangamam begins from the 29th of this month to the 12th of December. Seven trains will be operated between Kanyakumari, Chennai and Coimbatore to Banaras. The return journey will begin from the 5th to the 17th of December. The first train will leave Kanyakumari on the 29th and will reach on the 1st of December to Banaras. The registration for travel categories ranging from students, teachers, writers, Agriculturists and allied rural development activities, professionals, artisans, Women Self help groups, beneficiaries of central government schemes, self employed, classical singers and temple priests are available. Anyone who wants to register can take a quiz to be eligible for short listing. The date of the quiz and instructions for attending will be sent to the registered email. Volunteers can also register and they will be provided with a certificate and a minimum allowance. In this campaign around 50 Hindi Knowing Tamil teachers teaching Tamil through Hindi in TamilNadu will be trained under an Orientation program during October – November and sent to Varanasi for teaching Tamil to school students . Each teacher will teach spoken Tamil alongwith alphabets to 30 other language speaking students through a short term program for an hour in schools, with around 20 classes during the period of stay. The teaching contingent will arrive on 2nd December at Varanasi. A total of 1500 students will be learning Tamil in the Tamil Department of Benaras Hindu University. A student contingent will arrive in Chennai on 2nd December and attend an orientation session and witness a live relay of KTS 4.0 Inaugural session at CICT. From 3rd December students will be distributed to designated colleges across Tamilnadu including Gandhi Gram rural university at Dindigul. Vels University at Chennai. Central University of Tamilnadu located at Tiruvaiyaru., Sastra University Thanjavur, SRM University Chennai, IIIT Kanchipuram, IIT Chennai, NIT Tiruchi, Vivekananda College Sholavandan and Chennai and Vasuki Arts and Science College Coimbatore. The Course content will include educational materials on Tamilnadu’s rich traditions, festivals and the oneness of Bharatiya tradition. The four day tour to Kasi involves visit to Kashi Vishwanath and other temples like Sarnath, Ganga Arati, Ghat visit, Prayagraj, three night stay at Ayodhya and local visits curated by IRCTC, BHU and local administration. Another aspect is the Agasthya Expedition the journey from Tenkasi to Kashi highlighting Tamilnadu’s contribution to the Nation.
