Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan took oath as the 17th Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court today. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office to Justice Chauhan at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Speaker Rabindranath Mahato and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi attended the swearing-in ceremony, besides several judges and senior government officials. Chief Secretary Alka Tiwary read out the warrant of appointment issued by the President Droupadi Murmu.
The Union Ministry of Law and Justice on July 14 issued a notification regarding the appointment of Justice Chauhan as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.
