Judicial Commission Led by Former SC Judge Dr B S Chauhan Seeks Public Inputs on Leh Violence

Judicial Commission headed by former Judge of the Supreme Court, Dr B S Chauhan, set up by the Union Home Ministry to probe the September 24 Violence in Leh town of Ladakh, has issued a public notice for furnishing information, knowledge and evidence of any kind with regards to the violent incident.

 

The deadline for submission of information by the public is the 28th of next month. The three-member inquiry Commission has started its proceedings from 27 of this month with the first visit to the town and heard the representation of the public representatives.

 

The judicial inquiry Commission was notified by the Home Ministry on the demand of Ladakh to probe the circumstances leading to the serious law and order situation, police Actions and the resultant unfortunate death of four.

 

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has expanded the composition of members with one more member by deputing Additional Secretary of the Ladakh  Union Territory Rigzin Spalgon, as joint secretary for the Inquiry Commission to assist in the inquiry and coordinate between the UT Administration and the Inquiry Commission.
