Jordan has said it is closely monitoring developments in Yemen and reaffirmed its support for all efforts aimed at de-escalation, safeguarding the country’s security and stability, respecting its sovereignty and meeting the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the commitment of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to Yemen’s security, stability and sovereignty.

He said Amman valued the approach adopted by the two countries in handling the current situation in Yemen in a manner that seeks to guarantee security and stability and respond to the needs of its people.

Al-Majali also commended the leadership of Saudi Arabia and the UAE for what he described as their wise handling of the Yemen file, noting that their policies reflect historical positions and sustained efforts to support Yemen, regional security and Arab interests.

He said their actions promote the values of brotherhood, partnership, unity and Arab solidarity.

Jordan reaffirmed its firm support for Yemen’s legitimate government and for all initiatives aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution that would ensure a secure and stable future for Yemen, protect the security of Saudi Arabia and contribute to broader regional stability.
