In Jammu and Kashmir, the MeT Department has forecasted isolated to widespread light to moderate rain and snow in higher reaches over J&K for today. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the weather department has also predicted that from March 4-9, the weather will remain generally dry, followed by a spell of rain and snow from March 10-13. Travelers are advised to follow the traffic advisory on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). Passenger vehicles are allowed on both sides, but heavy motor vehicles will only be permitted from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing road conditions. Commuters are urged to travel during the day and avoid halting between Ramban and Banihal due to the risk of landslides and shooting stones.
