In Jammu and Kashmir, due to heavy rainfall last evening, a landslide occurred in the Mehad area in the Ramban district, causing the closure of the 270-kilometer-long strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44). Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the National Highway was closed late last evening, and continuous rain has hampered restoration efforts, making it difficult for authorities to clear the road. The Traffic Police Department of Ramban has advised all commuters to avoid travelling on the National Highway until the weather improves and the road is made safe for passage.
