In Jammu and Kashmir, the District Administration Kathua organised a mega cycle rally under the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to instil patriotic fervour among the masses ahead of Independence Day celebrations. Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma flagged off the rally from Sports Stadium Kathua which passed through Tangri Palace and culminated at Boys Higher Secondary School Kathua yesterday.
A large number of students from various government and private educational institutions participated in the rally, braving the rainy spell and showcasing high patriotic enthusiasm.
The DC appreciated the spirit of young participants and urged the people of Kathua to take part in Independence Day celebrations at district, sub-district and sub-division levels. He called upon citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, offices and establishments to mark their participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The DC further said that such initiatives not only strengthen the sense of unity and national pride but also inspire the younger generation to uphold the values of freedom and sacrifice for which countless heroes laid down their lives.
Chief Education Officer Kathua informed that schools across the district are celebrating the campaign as per the District Administration’s plan. He lauded the zeal of students, who raised patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and charged the atmosphere with nationalistic fervour despite the weather conditions.
