J&K Election Commissioner Reviews Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision in Kathua

In Jammu and Kashmir, State Election Commissioner Shantmanu conducted an extensive tour of Kathua district to review the Special Summary Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2026. Akashvani Correspondent reports that the visit focused on assessing the progress of the revision exercise and ensuring that electoral rolls remain comprehensive, accurate and inclusive. The State Election Commissioner inspected special camps at GDC Hiranagar and GMS Badala, where he reviewed enrolment of newly eligible voters and examined forms related to inclusion, deletion, correction and transposition. Interacting with Panchayat Secretaries and field staff, he stressed expeditious disposal of claims and objections and called for 100 per cent registration of eligible voters. He also directed timely resolution of bottlenecks in the enrolment process. District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Kathua, Rajesh Sharma and Secretary, State Election Commission J&K, Susheel Kumar, also accompanied the State Election Commissioner during the visit.


The revision process began on March 27 this year across the Union Territory.
