In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that in his message, the Chief Minister recalled the teachings of Gautama Buddha and said they continue to guide humanity towards the path of peace, compassion and non-violence. He said that Buddha’s message of love, tolerance and service to mankind is of timeless relevance and holds special significance in the present times, when the world seeks harmony and mutual understanding. Highlighting the importance of communal harmony, he said that the occasion is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence, brotherhood and respect for diversity. The Chief Minister prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the entire country.
