In Jammu and Kashmir, the 13-day Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra to the Mandi valley of Poonch district continues smoothly, with another batch of 1352 pilgrims leaving the Bhagwati Nagar base camp early morning today. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the fresh batch of 1352 pilgrims comprises 892 men, 434 women, and 26 children left the Jammu base camp in a convoy of 27 vehicles for Mandi, Poonch. Meanwhile, no new batch departed for the Amarnath Yatra from Jammu today. The Amarnath Yatra resumed from the Baltal axis yesterday, after a weather-related pause, but remains suspended on the Pahalgam route due to maintenance work. Notably, the Amarnath Yatra has crossed the 4 lakh pilgrim mark this season. The cumulative number of pilgrims who have completed the Yatra since its commencement on July 3 has reached 4 lakh 1 thousand and 677. Pilgrims from across India are undertaking the sacred Shri Amarnathji Yatra-seeking the divine blessings of Mahadev at the revered Amarnath Cave during the holy month of Shravan. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders and said the record participation of devotees in the annual Amarnath Yatra this year from across the country and the world stands as a testament to India’s unity and unwavering resolve to overcome challenges.
