In Jharkhand, a massive fire broke out early this morning at an electricity department warehouse located on Baliapur Road under the Saraidhela police station area in Dhanbad district. Large quantities of electrical equipment, cables, transformer parts and other materials stored in the warehouse were gutted in the blaze, causing losses estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot on receiving information and brought the fire under control after sustained efforts. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, though a short circuit is suspected, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
