Heavy rainfall in the afternoon in Ranchi and surrounding districts has turned to water logging in many low lying areas. The Ranchi Met Dept has predicted heavy to very rainfall in the State till July 27. The synoptic system developed due to low pressure area created in Bay of Bengal will cover almost entire Jharkhand. Yellow and orange alert has been issued for Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Latehar, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, East and West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Pakur and Sahibganj districts for July 23 and 24. The Met Department has also advised farmers to not to go in fields during rains and appealed people to remain alert. Thunderstorms, lightning, continuous and widespread rainfall and gusting winds have also been forecasted by the Met Department.
