In Jharkhand, the death toll in the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the Saranda forest area of West Singhbhum district has risen to 17. Police sources stated this late last night. The gunfight between the security forces and Naxalites is underway, with reports suggesting that several senior Naxalite leaders are still trapped in the area. West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police Amit Renu is leading the operation on the ground along with officers and personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
