Jewar Airport to Become Asia’s Largest Aviation Hub : Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu

Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu today handed over the aerodrome licence issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh.

This step has brought the greenfield airport a step closer to becoming operational. In a social media post, the Minister expressed happiness over the process as it inches closer to starting operations. He also held discussions with the airport operator on expediting the remaining procedures to ensure early commencement of services.

Mr. Naidu said the Jewar International Airport is among the most significant aviation developments in the country and will have the largest airport area in Asia. He added that, envisioned as a major aviation hub with integrated Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and air cargo facilities, the airport is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s aviation ecosystem.

The Minister added that India’s aviation sector is expanding at an unprecedented pace, creating world-class infrastructure and new opportunities for growth.
