Jammu division schools reopen with tight safety measures

In Jammu and Kashmir, all government and recognised private schools across the Jammu Division that have not yet reopened will resume academic activities from today. The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, has announced the reopening of these schools from today. In a directive issued to Zonal Education Officers, the School Education Department has emphasised strict enforcement of safety protocols. Heads of institutions have been instructed to coordinate closely with the local administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and smooth reopening process. The Directorate has also underlined the importance of maintaining a conducive academic environment, urging all stakeholders to be vigilant and proactive in implementing the necessary guidelines for the well-being of students and staff.

Earlier, educational institutions across Jammu, including the sensitive border districts, reopened yesterday. The reopening of schools in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, and Udhampur marks a significant step toward restoring normalcy in the region after days of tension along the India-Pakistan border. On May 13, schools in non-border districts, including Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, and Ramban, resumed academics following a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan that took place on May 10.
