The Jammu Division of Indian Railways carried out an intensive ticket checking campaign, penalising 673 passengers and collected a record five lakh rupees in fines. The crackdown covered key stations including Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Katra, Srinagar, and Budgam and brought the highest single-day recovery of fines of five lakhs rupees in a single day for the division. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal urged passengers to use M-UTS and the RailOne App to book tickets and avoid long queues and added that the campaign against irregular travelling will continue.
