Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil Announces Measures to Improve Groundwater Levels in Haryana’s Dark Zone Blocks

Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil has said that the Jal Shakti Ministry will take effective steps to improve the groundwater level in the dark zone blocks of Haryana. He informed that various blocks of about 150 districts across the country have come into the dark zone, including Haryana.

 

Mr. Patil was addressing a press conference organised at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh today along with Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana. He said that the effort of the Jal Shakti Ministry will work towards promoting groundwater recharge and water harvesting so that permanent improvement can be brought to the groundwater level.

 

Union Jal Shakti Minister said that in the Union Budget 2024, about Rs 76 thousand crore was allocated to the state of Haryana for development projects. Also, about 78 thousand crore rupees have been received as grants, due to which Haryana is progressing at a fast pace. He said that the budget presented this year by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is for the welfare of every section.

 

He said that the agricultural loan limit has been increased from 3 lakh to 5 lakh rupees. Mr. Patil held a separate press conference regarding the budget provisions for the Union Territory of Chandigarh. On this occasion, BJP leader Sanjay Tandon was present with him.
